This was a great long pose day. Strange how life drawing is a small community. I seem to bump into the same models all over the city, at different sessions. I loved the use of fabric. I've had a similar pose from this model, but it was early on, and it didn't do the pose justice at all.

Here are the first sketches of November, and I just want to thank everyone for the feedback over the last few weeks. It has helped me improve immeasurably. So stoked about the open house at cap on saturday. we'll see how it goes...

This was another class. I think this was the beginning of exploring line sensitivity. My future posts you'll be able to see the difference in line weight (I hope!). I have them on my computer, but it's just a matter of putting aside a chunk of time to make them post-able. It seems to be a huge time commitment after the fact.

This was at the Purple Thistle, an artist run collective. We didn't have a model that day, so we drew each other. It turned out pretty well, so I'll be able to add these to my 'people' page for my portfolio for Cap.

I realize now that one should start the 11 second club earlier than a few days until deadline. So, it comes as no surprise that I only finished a page and a half of my Xsheet. There's always next month, I suppose, when I have time to fully sculpt a mouth set that does not frustrate me.

In an effort to improve, I have decided to try to do at least a few seconds a day. I hope it will continue through out this month. Here is a pencil test of a bird, which will have an octopus on its head sometime in the future. Why you ask? I donno really. Just felt like it. This is part of my walk cycle series. Hey everyone. I realize I haven't used this blog for anything at all, but oh well, what can you do. Here is a picture from the helicopter. I should have the rest on flickr as soon as I can. I realized I started uploading the wrong ones...oops. oh well. Life is good. I'm working at Mount Cook, and looking to move on at the end of the month. To where I cannot say, because I have no idea. Living by the seat of your pants is quite the experience. Sweet as....as the kiwis would say.

Long overdue post

I realize I haven't been posting, but when you pay a dollar for 10 minutes of internet time, you don't get to your blog. That's only in some places though...In any event, I am making my way back to Auckland today after renting a camper van for 10 days. It was great for getting the lay of the land, and I guess I should be more specific. I will discuss it at length when I get back to the land of free internet. But for now, know that I am doing well, and that I need to find employment posthaste. I will probably settle in Wellington for a bit.

Last few weeks before I leave Vancouver, and I thought some pivotal images of the city proper would be in order. However, as it stands now, I have this one, which in its quirkiness shows off a part of the city. I'm off to see what I can see in New Zealand, and the land of OZ, and hopefully going to use this space as a travelogue. Until then, I don't think I'll post much in this space, but that has yet to be decided. Cheerio.
